MyPlace Story

In 2019, Zach Bell created a no-code website over a long weekend to make his two places available to a small circle of friends. His friends asked if they could add their homes and one thing led to another and that squarespace site ended up on the cover of the travel section of NYT during a global pandemic and was called the Raya of Homesharing.

Thousands of internet strangers reached out to see if they could access the site to share their homes with their own friends. At that moment we realized that many more people would make their houses available to their friends if they didn't have to offer them as public rentals. By connecting friends and private groups - MyPlace enables sharing that wouldn't otherwise happen on public rental markets.

Our Team

Our team of leaders in community and technology have been building global, high impact, online and offline communities and tech products for decades. Co-Founder & CTO Rameet Chawla is MyPlace's user number 2 and leads a top notch, lean technology team.

How we do it

At MyPlace, you'll be joining a globally distributed fully remote team of entrepreneurs and industry experts who have successfully built and launched multiple companies and products over the years. Slack is home, Zoom is our living room, having strong Wi Fi is a necessity.

Community Manager

The Community Manager role is a crucial member of the community team. We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated individual with a strong desire to learn and develop their career. You will report directly to the Head of Community, and be responsible for supporting both on-going and future initiatives. 

As MyPlace continues to grow, so do the needs of our users. The goal of this position is to alleviate the current community team from the growing demands of those users, so that together we can continue building for the future. 

This is a junior position with opportunity to grow and advance quickly.

       Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day interactions with the MyPlace community
  • Triage bugs and general support for MyPlace users
  • Coordinate & organize on-going department initiatives
  • Manage & maintain the needs of a fast growing, global community
  • Creating new content and keeping community knowledge base up to date

       Education & Experience

  • Has experience working with fast paced teams and has a proven track record of completing tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficient written and communication skills. 
  • Can demonstrate the ability to understand and learn complex digital systems quickly
  • Is familiar with systems such as: Intercom, Airtable, Trello, Mailchimp and standard leading industry tools.
  • Is exceptionally detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems without guidance
